Each member represents car users in their own country - not the publication they work for, nor any commercial interest. There is just one simple rule: one member per country, because every user matters equally, no matter where they come from.

The AUTOBEST CONQUEST European Awards
In 2026, the revolutionary concept of AUTOBEST CONQUEST opened the voting process to millions of European consumers, who can now vote, together with the AUTOBEST Jury, for the title of Best Buy Car of Europe.
Who decides the Autobest winner?
Not the jury alone. The final result combines the votes of the public with the votes of the AUTOBEST jury, and both count exactly the same.

Anyone can vote online for their favourite finalist. All public votes are added up and turned into points that make up half of the final score.

32 independent automotive journalists from 32 European countries, one per country, so every country has the same voting power. They judge the cars after completing the AUTOBEST Final Test: a two-day evaluation of every finalist at the ÖAMTC Driving Center in Teesdorf, near Vienna, focused on design, technology and daily use.
Final result = public points (50%) + jury points (50%).
The car with the highest combined score becomes the AUTOBEST Best Buy Car of Europe.

The only real-world range test, certified by Bureau Veritas
Range figures from lab tests are rarely confirmed in real-world driving conditions. That is why, starting in 2021, AUTOBEST has been testing relevant electric cars on the market annually under real-world, identical, and reproducible conditions: energy consumption, range, and charging. The goal isn’t to create a ranking just for the sake of it. The goal is to help you know, before you buy, whether the electric car you want meets your actual needs. The methodology has been certified twice by Bureau Veritas.
