AUTOBEST is the independent organization of automotive media experts with the broadest representation in Europe: a network of active automotive journalists from 32 countries, representing the interests of over 665 million car users—the majority of the continent’s population.
Founded in 2000, AUTOBEST operates on two simple principles: each member represents the car users in their own country, not the publication they work for—and each country has only one member, because every user matters equally, no matter where they come from.

To inform, advise, and guide car users in their choices amid massive economic, environmental, and social changes—and to be the voice of the more than 665 million users we represent before key decision-makers in the European automotive industry and institutions.
Our Vision
We aim to serve as an attentive, competent, and independent liaison between car users and manufacturers operating in the European market. Users’ questions are often the same, but local contexts vary greatly. Our role is to provide answers that are relevant to each one.

AUTOBEST members are automotive journalists working for publications across Europe. However, when they speak as AUTOBEST members, they do not represent the views of their publishers or any commercial interests—they represent car owners in their respective countries.

In the annual Best Buy Car of Europe competition, the jury uses a precise voting system based on criteria relevant to users. Each vote and each juror’s score can be viewed at any time on the website.
