AUTOBEST ULTIMATE TEST NOVEMBER 28th – 29th TO SEE 30 JURORS DECIDE BEST BUY CAR OF EUROPE 202526 / 11 / 2024

AUTOBEST jurors from 30 countries, representing the interests of more than 665 million car users across Europe, will take part in the annual ULTIMATE TEST this week to decide the Best Buy Car of Europe 2025. Held on 28-29 November in Austria, the AUTOBEST Ultimate Test will help discover the modern, affordable new car that gives customers the most for their money in 2025.

The Citroen C3, Dacia Duster, MG3, Opel / Vauxhall Frontera and Renault Symbioz are the finalists that will now undergo a unique series of tests both on the road and at the ÖAMTC proving ground in Teesdorf, south of Vienna. The 30 jury members will also receive presentations from each brand in the unique AUTOBEST open format, allowing each juror to grill the representatives about why their model deserves to be the AUTOBEST Buy Car of Europe for 2025.

Unfortunately, due to the war, our colleague from Ukraine is not able to travel to Austria.

The size and scale of the AUTOBEST Ultimate Test is industry-leading. The juror from every country will attend this week, putting each car through their paces in order to vote via a unique matrix of 13 criteria. The voting process is entirely transparent with the matrix taking into consideration the evolution of the car industry towards increased autonomous technologies, more environmentally friendly drivetrains and greater in-car connected services.  These are coming to complete the „traditional” criteria related to design, ride handling and daily use, functionality, price, and cost of ownership.

Each juror will fully engage with their readers, viewers, and listeners during the AUTOBEST Ultimate Test, using the hashtags #AUTOBEST U Test on social media. This will ensure that hundreds of millions of car users across Europe can directly follow the two-day event and see the science and expertise behind it, further underlining the real-world relevance that’s central to the AUTOBEST philosophy.

“The AUTOBEST mission is to inform, advise and guide car users when it comes to better using their car and choosing a new vehicle,” said AUTOBEST chairman Dan Vardie. “To select the AUTOBEST Best Buy Car, all 30 members gather on a proving ground for two very tough days of thoroughly test-driving the finalists they have selected together. Thanks to our full transparency and exhaustive tests, the winner we select from the Citroen C3, Dacia Duster, MG3, Opel / Vauxhall Frontera and Renault Symbioz will be a very deserving victor of the AUTOBEST Best Buy Car of Europe 2025.”

After the AUTOBEST Ultimate Test in Austria, all the AUTOBEST Jury Members will vote for the BEST BUY CAR OF EUROPE 2025, just in time for the official reveal of the Winner, scheduled for around 15th of December, respecting the tradition of the last 24 years.

The AUTOBEST jury members represents 31 European countries – the largest independent motoring jury in Europe and in the world by the number of represented countries. The full list of countries represented is detailed below.

Furthermore, the AUTOBEST members pays close attention to the automotive industry’s efforts. Investments, new automotive job opportunities, green cars and technologies, the best car company, the best top executive, the best car designer, safety, and motorsport legends, are all carefully checked. New in-car technologies and connectivity are also under scrutiny. In total, we announce eight awards for these achievements in addition to the European accolade `AUTOBEST – Best Buy Car of Europe in 2025`.

This year, AUTOBEST decided to pioneer a new award named `A Star is Back` offered for iconic models and brands successfully relaunched.

The 24th AUTOBEST Awards Gala ceremony will take place in May 2025.

Since 2001, all AUTOBEST awards are delivered to the winning companies, brands, and personalities on the occasion of a most awaited Gala ceremony that each year takes place in another European country. About AUTOBEST

The AUTOBEST organisation was created in 2000 with the revolutionary concept of finding the ‘Best Buy Car’ available on the European market. For a car to become an AUTOBEST winner, it must represent the best offer for most European customers. Price, service network, spare parts distribution and versatility are the most important criteria in the voting process. Design and new technologies are also becoming a more critical factor for voting. AUTOBEST uses a transparent voting system, with a complex matrix of 13 criteria to decide the winner.
