THE AUTOBEST EUROPEAN JURY ANNOUNCES THE BEST BUY CAR OF EUROPE FINALISTS FOR 202412 / 10 / 2023

  • Gilles Vidal is the new member of DESIGNBEST Hall of Fame;
  • Denis Le Vot is joining MANBEST gallery;
  • Porsche has been voted `COMPANYBEST 2024` .

BYD DOLPHIN, FIAT 600e, HYUNDAI KONA and JEEP AVENGER are the finalists for the AUTOBEST 2024 award. These cars will compete for the prize of Best Buy Car of Europe in 2024. The jury of 31 members from 31 countries will make their final assessments and cast their votes in the upcoming weeks, with the winner of the 23rd Edition of AUTOBEST set to be announced in mid-December.

AUTOBEST releases the logo of the European AUTOBEST 2024 Finalist. The four manufacturers are entitled to use the logo in their communication and promotion campaigns leading up to the announcement of the AUTOBEST 2024 winner.

Following successful events organized in the last three years, the jury will again go to Teesdorf, AUSTRIA, on November 21st & 22nd for the Final Test. The Fahrtechnik proving ground, operated by the Austrian Automobile Club (OEAMTC), gained international recognition for vehicle testing and driver education in many areas. With Teesdorf placed in the proximity of Vienna Airport, Autobest established a partnership to perform a comprehensive package of tests to explore the full potential of the finalists.

The jury voted for Porsche as the winner of COMPANYBEST 2024 award.

This prestigious award is going to Porsche. The German premium manufacturer came out strongly of the pandemic years by presenting a turnover of EUR 37,6 bn. For 2022, an increase of 13,6 percent. Profit and car deliveries – 310.000 – also rose significantly. 2023 began even more impressive for the Stuttgart-based company with significant gains in sales revenue, operating profit and deliveries in the first six months. One year after the IPO, Porsche is in a better condition than ever before. Porsche is also well on schedule in expanding its electric vehicles line-up, with the Macan and the 718 to follow the Taycan in the near future. All these facts convinced the Autobest Jury to award COMPANYBEST to Porsche.

About AUTOBEST

The AUTOBEST organisation was created in 2001 with the revolutionary concept of finding the ‘Best Buy Car’ available on the European market. For a car to become an AUTOBEST winner, it must represent the best offer for most European customers. Price, service network, spare parts distribution and versatility are the most important criteria in the voting process. Design and new technologies are also becoming a more critical factor for voting. AUTOBEST uses a transparent voting system, with a complex matrix of 13 criteria to decide the winner.
